Pitlochry is a vibrant town with a range of shops, Edradour and Blair Atholl distilleries, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, nearby Blair Castle, bungee jumping, annual Enchanted Forest light show, Killiecrankie – the site of a Jacobite battle and an amazing gorge, Pitlochry Dam and so much more.

McKays hotel, bar and restaurant is located on the historical General Wade’s Road built during the Jacobite rebellions of the 18th century. It was built as part of King George I’s attempt to repress the Highland’s, General Wade constructed a new military road ‘for wheel carriages’ between Dunkeld and Inverness. The hotel is located just minutes from the main line Pitlochry railway station with direct train links to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and London. It’s even closer to the bus stop which has direct routes to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

Travelling by car Pitlochry is just off the A9. There’s plenty of car parking available in Pitlochry along with electric car charging points.

Highland Bungee Jump

This golf course isn’t too large, however, every hole takes on a different challenge. The first 3 holes will be your first challenge – all uphill, but the walk to the top is well worth it as the scenery.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre

The Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a large performing arts theatre located in the town and burgh of Pitlochry. Whatever your interest in theatre Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a beautiful place to visit.

Pitlochry Dam

Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre showcases the rich history of hydroelectricity in the north of Scotland and how it transformed our lives. The Dam also boasts the “fish ladder” where you can see the Salmon swim to their breeding grounds upstream.

Ben Vrackie

The walk to the summit of Ben Vrackie can be started in Pitlochry and is approximately 6 to 8 miles. You will more than likely spot some beautiful wildlife on the way!

Blair Atholl Distillery

Take a peek at the ins and outs of this working distillery. Blair Athol Distillery stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in Pitlochry. Set in open moorland south of the town.
